New Idea

At last finance class, I learned some interesting thing. One is Rd(return of debt) is not same as interest rate but same as company’s bond rate. This is a very new thing because I always use interest rate. But in US, it is quite natural .When I use interest rate for Rd, order is Re > Rf > Rd. This is strange. No one lend money to a company because Rf is greater than Rd. Another thing is Beta should be calculated by 1 - 2 years data although I learned longer is better. Of course, from the view of statistical point longer is better. So it depends on purpose.Anyway, what I learned is those two.

By the way, I have a sentence I like to read.

Free Time

My calss in a week finish on Thursday. I do not have any class from Friday to Sunday even though I have assignments. So, I take a rest on Thursday night, reading a book. It's one of the time I feel relax. So now, I'm feeling ease. From tommorow, I start to do finance class's assignment.

Friday Night and Japanese Food

Today, we cooked some Japanese foods which is made by my friend. I did not make though... Sometime, I feel I want to eat Japanse food. So, I enjoyed those food.

I get used to spend times in Japanese culture and it made me current my style. But I did not noticed that since I came here. As long as we do not get out from our country, we can not know what is our culture. I can only understand ourselves in the difference between our culture and other culture. When I eat a hamburger, I know Sushi is tasty. When I talk other people, I know what I am.

The point is that now I am on the way to recognaize I am Japanese.

Civilization

I go to practice dance almost everyday. Today, I also went to practice. I have much time to practice because I don't work now. So, I feel I am far from civilization. I don't know what civilization is actually.... But, anyway I just feel the sense of something lost and I feel I'm in vacation or not in the real world. When I come up with this idea, I'm half laughing...

Speak to civilization, Haruki Murakami said in the "Hear The Wind Sing".

Civilization is transmission. When it comes to pass that things that should be expressed and transmitted get lost, civilization itself comes to an end. Click...Off (qtd in Haruki Murakami, 26)

I agree with this notion. Civilization is easy to end; therefore people try to keep it.

Case Study

Today I continue to read the assingment, case study. One is from Operation management and the other is from Finance. And I think hummmm.... why they want to repuchace the stock ? I have no idea. Let investment bank buyout★ After 1 hour, I don't care whether Zara enter Europe. I end up messed up. haha.

Yesterday, I noticed the reason why American has tendency to be indivisual. The reason is they write fast name fast. In Japan, we write familiy name fast. When I write my name, I always think we are belong to my family and blood group. I am a member of this group. Naturaly, our thinking is group oriented. It affects my attitude toward other people.

Finance is...

Today was first class in this quater, Finance. I still can not understand some conversation.

By the way, this quater system and evening class is not good for full time MBA student because we can not learn enough contexts comapared to other business schools. I sudenlly noticed this defect in this class. Of course as long as I have an attitude to learn things, I can get ideas from that class though. What I learn from today's class is that finance views a compnay as only one product.

A Diary from Mixi

I jut wrote a diary at SNS, calld mixi.
I directory quate it even though it is written by Japanse, but once in a way, it might well.

Subject: 空は飛べるのか、手は4本なのか。

あー、4/1だ。
やばい、クラスが始まる。
最近うれしかったことは、銀ちゃんが３年目に突入したこと。
悲しかったことは、サンフランシスコに行って相変わらず店員の 言ってる事がわからないこと。
別にもういいのだけれど。

ここと日本で何かがそんなに違うのかと言われれば
まー、お台場と厳島神社くらいの違いなのではないかと思う と答えると思う。

つまり、違うことは違うのだけど
どっちにしろ地面に立たなきゃいけないし
海の中で息はできないし、たまに方言だってわからない。
空は飛べないし、手が４本になるわけでもない。

それでもここに来たのは、空が飛べないことはやってみなきゃ
わからんし、手だってもしかしたら4本になるんじゃないかと
内心期待していたから。

MAC and SFC

Yeseterday, I went to Sanfrancisco and checked the Mac air. It is mazingly so thin. Because of that thinness, I thought it is likely to be broken soon, Apple make it tough though. Here, many people use Mac because I think the headquater of Apple is here. In my case, I have not been to use it in my life and I do not gonna use it in the future. I'm old enough to reject new technology. haha....

On the way to my home, I felt time passes so fast, driving my car. I already spent six months here.
